Yeah, it's all cool...I usually skip right to the finger stretching stuff. I use that routine before every gig when possible.

I just got Rock Discipline on the advice of some friends, and the stretching exercises do help, can't wait to learn more.

Cool...yeah, the legato exercises in RD have also helped my playing quite a bit.

I start with finger stretching slowly with a metronome 40-50 BPM,
Then finger exersises
Then Scales.
When warmed up play whatever you want.

I go straight to songs and maybe some scales, i practice for 30 mins but if i have a lot of time sometimes 2 hours or more! Axe

when i was on the road the band would be rehearsing for 2 to 3 hrs during the day
at show time ,start playing.

now i do about 3or 4 min of finger exercises.

I use a great bit of PC software called Guitar Practiced Perfectly. There is a free beta version at www.yourgpp.com
All the practice routines you can want with built in tick etc etc...
