I would describe my favourite guitar player according to genre. This is mainly because each guitar player has his own style of playing and as versatile a guitar player can be, no one is extremely good at every single style and genre out there.
If I wanted to listen to something weird and out of this world then Steve Vai would be my pick.If I were to listen to something exotic with a touch of Asian sound then it would be Marty Friedman.
When I'm in the mood for fast neo-classical soloing then Vinnie Moore would be the one.Whenever I need some straight up rockin' pentatonic solos then I would listen to Paul Gilbert. But my all rounder current favourite would be John Petrucci. His solos can be as fast as a bullet train and can also wail and make you cry. _________________ Left Handed Guitars |

I couldn't agree more. Different guitar players play different styles, and so only appeal to people who like those styles.
However, I like Pat Metheny because he is a fantastic all rounder. _________________ Sax In My Pocket . Com

My #1 guitar hero would have to be Chris Whitley. There are precious few men who could stand alone with an acoustic guitar and project such power and emotion - most others need a whole band and a stack of amplifiers to achieve what he could alone. I am always stunned to silence when I hear his open tunings, strange chords, convoluted lyrics and frantic picking.
#2 would be Warren Haynes. Totally dedicated to music and jamming with the greats, and an all-round great guy. Great blues-rock and slide guitar.
#3 onwards would be a mess of axemen I like Howe Gelb's anarchy on the guitar. Robert Johnson, Jimi (of course)... okay i'll wipe my chin now... _________________ Dancing without music would be a beautiful madness

For me it's Eric Clapton and John Mayer.
I'm crazy about their guitar style _________________ Guitar Centre Online deals |
