I dont get this... do you actually think that page, slash and hammet SUCK?
and you are saying that they are " bad guitarist " .. I would really like to see guitarist you like..
beeing a guitarist doesnt only mean that you have to play the thing darn well..
you have to have a "image" .. thats the whole clue around rock I think..
but these 3 you`re saying suck here got skills and a image.

how can u possibly say that jimi page and slash and kirk are sloppy!!
jimi page is the exact opposite of sloppy, have u seen him live! and none of them are out of tune! and slash's phrasing is awesome |

I think that Joe Satriani totally sucks. That's right SUCKS. No matter how much I try, I just can't like that guys music. It sounds so sterile to me. |

altho i agree with hammet i like slash and page, but there are other guitarists who are tons better, and others who are tons worse.

I enjoy all these guitarists.
But Page is definately sloppy at times. It's awesome though, the solo for Heartbreaker, slop city, but it slays anyway. That ain't sterile stuff, that is nasty and people love it.
Satriani is impressive lead player to me, but weak area is songwriting. I mean if his songwriting were as good as his leads, he'd have more hits than the Beatles. Well, at least Satch Boogie got some airtime. |

Play jazz
remember rock and roll is about the rolling part
and off course sticking it to the man if it was perfect
it wouldnt be rock thats for sure.

I love CC Deville, the original guitarist of Poison, because he sucks!!!
You may include him in your list as among the bad guitarists... Nevertheless, Poison remains to be one of my favorite bands. Poison is CC Deville! CC Deville is Poison.
I think Yngwie Malmsteen sucks too! Well, I just don't feel any emotions in his playing. He plays really fast though...
My fave guitarists are:
Vinnie Moore - Malmsteen with emotions
Gary Hoey - coz he's simply creative
Eddie Van Halen - very innovative, an all-time guitar hero!

You're right about Malmsteen. I've never heard anything of his that had any feeling to it. Very sterile.
I'll have to check out Vinnie Moore when I get some time. |

as a guitarist you can either run through scales all day and try to impress people with your speed and knowledge of the technical side of music (which no matter how fast you play or how much you know that gets realy boring realy fast), or you can forget about most of that crap and just play because you love playing and put all the feeling you have in to each note and let your creativity guide you fingers instead of all thoes repeditive books youve read that tell you what is right....
now lets see which gets your heart beating and head banging first

what are you kidding me?
the first two players are simply historic in how influential they are.
although technique is important, heart and feel are also incredibly important and they have that in spades.
