id highly suggest you get a metronome. those are the best for you, exspecially if your covering songs with wierdrythems, like soul boss nova. you dont need a great one, but for like, warming up and stuff, i would highly recommend for you to get a metronome, and use it time to time. they are really helpful if you use it correctly.

Hi Metronome is crucial for playing correct in time, if it mess up your playing it is possible that you aren`t playing perfectly in time(I check it on myself ) I sugest to slow down metronome and try to play lick or phrase perfectly at a very slow tempo and then increse it when you will feel totaly comfortable, after some time you will notice major improvments in your playing...

It's good advice. You must be able to play it perfectly at a slow speed before you can increase speed and expect to play it right. |

I play things without a metronome at first when I am unfamiliar with them, and then once my muscles are used to the pattern I am playing..then I begin to use the 'nome at slow speeds. Whenever you hear someone say that starting off slow is important..it is true, because that is when you are programming your muscles to play correctly. |
