Low Flute
I once bought myself a Low Flute, also known as a Low D Whistle. It was amazing for me. I fell in love with the enchanting warm embrace of its low and powerful notes. Unfortunately I left it to my ex girlfriend kind of by mistake. It still resides in an old stone Italian trullo in south Puglia.
But, I found a shop locally to me that is selling them. Well its got one in stock so I reserved it. The one I reserved incidently is also tuneable.
They cost about £70 or about $140.
I've saved my pennies and now can get back in touch with one once more. I am very excited and looking forward to the following next few days when I finally get hold of one.
Here is a video so you can see one in action:
The Low D Whistle, or Low Flute, is actually the instrument that plays the main tune in the soundtrack to the hit movie, The Titanic.
They're quite expensive because they are very beautiful, and although are officially relatives of the common tin whistle, are often regarded as a unique kind of flute; hence the name I gave it of "Low Flute".
They're great to take camping in the wilderness, with a campfire and nature's call in the distance. They aren't too clumsy to travel with either, just get them positioned right into your sack and they're not a bother. _________________ Sax In My Pocket . Com

Quote from Wikipedia:
quote: Though the tone of this instrument varies subtley among makers, low whistles are generally characterised by a more breathy, flute-like sound than traditional tin whistles.
You can also get them made of different materials, such as plastic, wood upvc etc... to give an even less tinny and more emboddied/enchanting sound. _________________ Sax In My Pocket . Com

When I've had a bit more practice. lol.
The fingering on one of these things is not a piece of cake ya know. The holes are so far apart you have to use the pads of your fingers because the finger tips won't reach.
I'm getting some nice sounds out of it, but just need to get back into it.
But I won't be as fast as these other guy's you've heard... I'm not that well versed. Well not just yet anyways.
Just waiting for my second one to arrive in the post, 'cos the first one I got turned out rather shite.
I'll be sure to put one up when I feel capable. _________________ Sax In My Pocket . Com
